Instruments of the String Family
Violin - smallest instrument, plays higher pitched notes, often plays the melody
Viola - slightly larger than the violin, plays mid-range notes, plays supporting melodies and harmonies
Cello - largest of the three, but smaller than the bass, plays low notes, bassline, and supporting harmonies
Double Bass - largest instrument of the string family, plays bassline and establishes pulse
