BMP's Vivaldi Orchestra playing at the Celebrity Series Winter Stringfest with the Rasa String Quartet at the Salvation Army Kroc Center

November 2024
BMP at TD Garden
BMP had the opportunity to bring students to TD Garden AGAIN! This time we brought
students from our string and brass programs at the Josiah Quincy Elementary School, Josiah Quincy Upper School, Winship Elementary School, Joseph P Manning School, Hurley K-8, Roger Clap School, and Perry School!
Maris Visits BMP
We were thrilled to welcome back Maris to JQES to visit the program and share an intimate performance for our students! Later that day our Workforce Apprenticeship students spent some time in the studio listening to their original music and exploring some new software!

Youth Fest! in the Seaport
Featuring culminating and original performances by BMP's Music Workforce Apprenticeship teens, with invited youth organizations, all took the stage in the streets of Boston, in Seaport Common on October 19. Performances by youth rock and funk bands, brass bands, classical strings, and DJ sets, and headliner performances by local R&B singer Miranda Rae.
Our FREE day-long festival featured Boston’s most talented up-and-coming youth musicians and artists was a big success and toe-tapping community activation for Bostonians.

Continuing the Expansion - Now Serving 2,300 + Youth
We excited to be serving nearly 2,300+ youth across 23 schools across Boston!
Additionally, we launched our private lesson program at Hill House in Beacon Hill!
August 2024
Summer Workforce Training Cohort/Youth Fest!
Boston Music Project hired 16 Boston youth musicians to record an album and produce live concerts through a partnership with SuccessLink and the City of Boston's youth summer employment program.

During the summer, they work alongside our team of teaching artists and meet with local professionals in all areas of the music industry and wrapping it all up with the city's first ever Youth Fest!

Summer Strings Intensive
From July 22nd to August 2nd, Boston Music Project's Summer String Intensive (SSI) was held at The Record Co.
Students worked in chamber groups, created music-oriented arts and crafts, and made instruments using STEAM principals.

BMP Block Party
On Saturday June 8th, 2024, the Boston Music Project hosted our annual BMP Block Party at the Rowes Wharf Plaza on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. The air was filled with music from BMP students and TA’s, games, and family and friends.
Thank you to everyone who shared their Saturday with us to celebrate, including the Red Sox's very own Wally! Who joined students and TAs for the popular song "Pepperoni Pizza"!
Make Music Boston
On June 21st, 2024 – the longest day of the year – the streets of Boston came to life with hundreds of free live music performances and events for all ages and genres of music!
Make Music Boston is partnered with the Boston BID and the City of Boston, the Rose Kennedy Greenway, and the NAMM Foundation, and powered locally by Boston Music Project.

UNICEF Heart Strings Boston
Students from the Perry School to perform at the opening night of UNICEF's Heart Strings in Boston!

Boston Public School's Citywide Arts Festival
Boston Music Project united students from the Mendell, Winship, Roger Clap, and Perry Schools to Parkman Bandstand at the Boston Common! This performance marks the VERY FIRST time these schools have been able to make an appearance at this festival thanks to the hardworking teachers at our programs!

Playing with Purpose Gala

Lunar New Year Celebration
BMP students performed at Josiah Quincy, Tufts Medical Center, and City Hall Lunar New Year celebrations.
iHeartRadio Visit
BMP students from the Margarita Muñiz Academy got a tour of the iHeartRadio offices and had the opportunity to meet DJ Pup Dawg, Brandon Clay and DJ Chocolate!

First Night Boston 2024
Students and teaching artists from the Boston Music Project took to the stage at City Hall Plaza for First Night Boston 2024, produced by Conventures.
Music From The Sole - Celebrity Series of Boston
Thanks to the Celebrity Series of Boston, students at Winship Elementary School in Brighton participated in a dance workshop from Brazilian dance troupe, Music From the Sole. Boston Music Project thanks our proud partner, the Celebrity Series of Boston for bringing in the group — and the Veronica Smith Senior Center for hosting in their beautiful auditorium!
