Over the past three years, BMP students have performed in the community on nearly sixty separate occasions. At BMP, we strive to help young people understand the importance of civic engagement, the positive role that music can play in their communities, and the satisfaction of preparing and performing for others. A focus on community involvement gives students more context for how they as individuals can make a positive impact in the world.
On Wednesday, May 12th, 2021, BMP youth from our Chinatown programs at the Josiah Quincy Elementary and Upper Schools prepared a short virtual performance for the Boston City Council meeting at the invitation of Councilors Michelle Wu and Ed Flynn. This performance was in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and we were delighted to share our students' talents.
Please enjoy the three-minute performance below!
