Summer Workforce 2024 OPEN NOW!

Updated: Mar 26

The 6-week music apprenticeship program (July 8 - August 16, Mon-Thur 9 am - 2pm) is designed for high school students who are interested in exploring careers in music production/performance, music business, and live sound engineering. Over the course of the program, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the music industry, job opportunities in music production, and the skills needed to succeed in this field.

Youth hired for this program have three objectives: record an original album, produce live concerts, and meet music industry professionals . Students will learn to use music production software and hardware tools, create and mix original music, operate live sound equipment, and develop marketing plans for their music.

The program culminates in the release of an original album of student-produced music and a showcase event to share their work with peers and families. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to work on individual and group projects, receive feedback and critiques, and engage with guest speakers from different areas of the music industry.

Last summer 14 students worked alongside our team of teaching artists and met with local professionals in all areas of the music industry. Our partners and collaborators included The Record Co., Big Night Live, iHeart Radio, Fenway Park, The City of Boston, and the Fenway Community Center. You can check out last summer's student's full bios here and watch the recap below!
